Check out events previously held at the Historic Dreibelbis Farm!
Though crocuses are pushing in the garden, we’re still hoping Old Man Winter makes
an appearance at the historic Dreibelbis Farm. Last winter a cold snap froze up our ice pond just in time for us to recreate a bit of the midwinter farm work of 150 years ago. On Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m., the Dreibelbis Farm Historical Society will host our fourth annual ice harvesting and hands-on demonstration of antique ice tools at the historic farm outside Virginville. This year we hope to have a team of horses to help us move ice! Come, join the fun. Warm yourself at the bonfire and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and some light refreshments. The farm grounds and nature trail will be open to the public.
For more information contact Mark Dreibelbis at (610) 488-7896.
The event is free to the public and will be
held rain or shine, with only blizzard
conditions cancelling. Tools and techniques
will be demonstrated even if there’s no ice.
Visitors should dress for the weather and be
prepared to walk on unpaved, farm lanes.
